Recovery Stories

Empowering Recovery    Building Connections    Supporting Equity

BAC-IN provides specialist addiction recovery and rehabilitation services; supporting individuals, families, young adults and caregivers from the underserved and underrepresented Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic Communities.  Our culturally sensitive, holistic and inclusive, peer led approach offers hope, connection and belonging to those facing alcohol and substance use addiction, gambling issues, mental health challenges, and well-being concerns.

Additionally, we deliver Cultural Competence training, Consultancy, Clinical Supervision and a range of specialized Addiction Recovery Programs for healthcare providers and statutory organizations throughout the UK.

Our Commitment

At BAC-IN, we understand the unique barriers faced by Diverse Ethnic communities in accessing and engaging with mainstream treatment and recovery services. That's why our service is built on the pillars of cultural identification, empathy, shared experiences, and authentic peer support. We strive to create a safe and inclusive environment where individuals can share their experiences, reclaim their lives, and find the gift of recovery. Everyone's story matters.

Our mission is to bridge the gap between underserved communities and effective treatment, rehabilitation and recovery resources, cultivating hope and healing through empathy, cultural competence and understanding.

Cultural Competence Training, Supervision and Consultancy

We also deliver bespoke and tailored training, consultancy, clinical supervision and specialist addiction recovery packages to healthcare providers, statutory organisations, and community groups across East Midlands and throughout the UK.  In today's diverse society, cultural competence is essential for providing high-quality, equitable care. Research indicates that individuals from certain racial and ethnic groups often face significant barriers when accessing treatment, recovery and rehabilitation services. By equipping professionals with the authentic knowledge and skills to address these disparities, we can ensure that all service users receive the compassionate and effective support they deserve.

Community Impact

BAC-IN actively engages with the community through compelling media projects, events, blogs, and  books including our Race for Recovery film series:

Together, we're challenging stigma, reaching communities, raising awareness, and celebrating the gift of recovery in all of its forms.
